Why we love them…
It is not uncommon for horses to need protection and these boots are a light, easy to use, and a durable option for daily riding. These velcro on protective boots offer coverage of the pastern joint, bulbs of the heel, and down on the hoof. At Taktur we use these boots for a light weight daily protection whether it be on the trails or oval track. They are 85g and made of 2520D ballistic nylon that is also water resistant. This makes them both tough and also unlikely to increase in weight when riding in wet conditions. These boots are designed with inner shaping that stabilizes the boot and keeps it from twisting or rubbing even during faster riding or when crossing rough terrain.
Come in small (S) and medium (M) sizes.

The small size is rather small. Most horses do best in the medium size.

The role of weighted boots is first and foremost protection. At Taktur we often use boots when we are training a horse that has balance issues. We never train pace or fast tempo tölt without wearing boots. If a horse hits itself once, the trauma of that incident can often create a vicious cycle. The horse becomes tense, interferes due to the tension, hurts itself, and becomes even more tense. The use of protective boots prevents this cycle from ever starting.
