This unique bit design recently became popular across Iceland and Europe in the Icelandic horse community. The special feature behind this design is the usually large bit rings. The large ring size makes for a more playful and dynamic contact. The large ring also insures that there is no squeezing pressure on the side of the horses mouth.
This is the single broken option from Vals. We have found that certain horses (particularly those with a small palate) really appreciate the single broken option. We sell the single broken in as size 11.5 in brass and size 10.5 in steel.

The size of the rings can act as some added leverage in some situations. Also the thiner size of the mouth piece can make this a more influential bit for some horses.
