Traditional Drop Noseband

Why we love it…
This leather drop noseband displays everything we love from handmade Ástund products. The leather is supple and craftsmanship impeccable. This noseband has been a standard piece of training equipment in our barns for over 10 years now.
Drop nosebands are the traditional choice of noseband in our industry. When properly fitted they support the horse without clamping their mouths shut. They help stabilize and secure loose rein snaffles (our primary choice of bit) in the horses mouth.
This can be paired with the traditional bridle also from Ástund.
Consider this…
Drop nosebands can be misused, therefore proper adjustment is key. The noseband should be positioned approximately four fingers up from the nostril. The tightness of the noseband should be adjusted, so that at least two fingers can easily fit underneath at the top of the nose. The noseband piece goes over the bridle and bit rings but in front of the reins.
