Drop nosebands are the traditional choice of noseband in our industry. When properly fitted they support the horse without clamping their mouths shut. They help stabilize and secure loose rein snaffles (our primary choice of bit) in the horses mouth.
This can be paired with the bridle with padded browband also made by Ástund.

Drop nosebands can be misused, therefore proper adjustment is key. The noseband should be positioned approximately four fingers up from the nostril. The tightness of the noseband should be adjusted, so that at least two fingers can easily fit underneath. The noseband piece goes over the bridle and bit rings but in front of the reins.
