Workshop: Trail Riding (Sign Up & Deposit)
July 15-18
There is nothing like cruising the trails! Whether you're planning a trek to Iceland or hoping to improve your skills for around home, this workshop is a perfect opportunity to sharpen your abilities as a trail rider and provide your horse with an education to confidently handle a variety of situations.
There are a multitude of aspects that go into riding outdoors. Over four days we'll be covering some of the most frequently visited topics and vital skills. This will include navigating obstacle courses, trailer loading, group rides, and helping your horse to stand tied. We will also take a day in the arena to explore important trail prerequisites, including training maneuverability and the tölt. The ultimate goal is that you and your horse can feel confident in your abilities to handle a variety of scenarios. We'll be addressing these topics through lectures, demonstrations, and hands on application. Following group trail rides on Saturday, we'll be providing a BBQ dinner for everyone (the perfect way to end a day on the trails). Finally, on Sunday participants will be given a chance to apply all the skills presented during the week as we take a group ride off site.
This has consistently been one of our most well received workshops. Participants really benefited from riding out with the instructors and having that sort of hands on help in the contexts that they needed it the most.
Don't have your own horse, but still hoping to participate? No problem! Just let us know in the form below and we can provide a horse for you to lease for the duration of the workshop.
