Hríma from beat n’ branch
Hríma is a very well bred, five-gaited mare. Currently 7 years old, she is quite the head turner with her colorful tobiano markings, blue eyes, and bright disposition.
Her sire, Sporður frá Bergi can be traced back to honor prize and first prize stallion Álfasteinn frá Selfossi. This stallion received impressive marks for conformation (9 for back/croup, legs and 8.5 for proportions) and rideability (8.5 for all gaits and 9 for spirit). Looking further back in this line, we come across the honor prize mare Álfadís frá Selfossi. This remarkable mare received 9 for tölt, trot and spirit in her breeding assessment and has proven herself as a quality broodmare in Iceland.
Although never taken to breeding evaluations, Hríma’s dam List frá Hrafnhólum has also produced some hopeful offspring of her own here in the US. List goes back to first prize stallion Kormákur frá Flugumýri II (8.5 tölt, 9 trot). Her offspring have continually shown a kind disposition with lovely potential in tölt.
We have had the pleasure of knowing Hríma from the start of her training. She has always been straightforward, with a strong tendency towards tölt and pace. Hríma has good height with a lovely, elegant build. She has experience on the trails as well as a strong foundation in basic dressage exercises. Both adult and youth riders have enjoyed working with her. This mare’s vibrant, outgoing nature makes her a lovely riding partner.
Hríma has great potential for riders looking for a horse to enjoy on the trails and pursue competitive goals with.
Considerations: Although Hríma is five-gaited pace has not yet been trained.
