Learn from the most achieved Icelandic Horse Trainers & Clinicians in the U.S.

CARRIE
is the second-ever American graduate of Hólar University in 2013, AND she received the Morgunblaðið Award for best riding and horsemanship throughout the three-year program. In the last 12 years, she has played an integral role in the promotion of the Icelandic horse throughout the U.S.
Under the mentorship of Double Dan Horsemanship, Carrie has most recently made quite an impression with her liberty & bridleless team as they perform all over the country.
Carrie is also a co-founder and administrator of the Knights of Iceland performance team.
TERRAL
found his passion for training through many years of studying natural horsemanship. He fell in love with a girl who was obsessed with Icelandic horses, so he thought they were pretty cool, too. 😉
In 2010, Terral moved to Iceland to study under top trainers Anton Páll Nielson, Hulda Gustafsdóttir and Hinrik Bragason. While working there, he earned his young horse trainer certification. Terral also introduced Iceland to his natural horsemanship techniques which have since been adopted all over the country as the standard for starting young horses.
He is a member of the USIHC National Team and has topped the national ranking charts in Five Gait, T2, and PP1.
“Taktur Icelandic Horses is a great place to have your Icelandic Horse trained. Taktur was very patient with my mare giving her time to develop mentally and physically. The trainer’s at Taktur encourage clients to learn with their horse so the client can incorporate these training methods at home with the horse. Taktur Icelandic Horses provides an incredible learning environment for both clients and horses.”
